SEVENTEEN’s Generous Donation for Wildfire Relief
Beyond their music, SEVENTEEN has gained widespread attention for their significant donation to South Korea’s wildfire relief efforts. A series of devastating wildfires began on March 14, 2025, in Cheongdo and quickly spread nationwide, burning over 48,000 hectares of forest. This disaster became the largest wildfire in South Korea’s history, causing unprecedented loss of lives and property.
Major corporations such as Samsung (₩3 billion, approximately $2.2 million), Hyundai (₩2 billion, approximately $1.5 million), and Lotte, KT, and Hanwha (₩1 billion each, approximately $750,000) contributed to relief efforts. SEVENTEEN matched the donations of large corporations by contributing ₩1 billion (approximately $750,000). While some critics attempted to downplay their generosity, the majority of South Korean online communities praised the group for their meaningful act of support.
